This meal is tradition. Pork, sauerkraut, and black eyed peas (bonus this year: mashed potatoes and PBR). I’ve had this meal for New Year’s every year since I can remember. I thought it was pretty common (at least the pork and sauerkraut) but almost none of my friends had even heard of this.
Luckily, Lis had a friend, Liz, visiting from out of town. In conversation she mentioned that her dad was disappointed she wouldn’t have her good luck meal on New Years. So, it just turned out that there was actually someone else with the tradition! Anyways, I already bought the pork and black eyed peas, so after we saw Sherlock Holmes, we got the sauerkraut and are prepared for the new year.
Anyway.
Here is my first beer of the New Year:

After dinner, we went on a tour of Columbia’s finest trees (Big Tree and Magic Tree).
And then we went to Big Tree!

Not the best shot… It was too cold to stay out very long at all. I shot this from the car.

So, I put my name on the fridge. “Keith”. Then I came back a while later and it said “Keith wishes you a merry new year”. Then on new year’s day it said “Keith wishes you a mary poppins”. Then by time I got around to taking the picture it said “Keith wishes you a mary poopins.” Yeah… I dont know.
I mean, does it make me a geek if I’m excited that I can post to my blog from my phone now? I’m using an app on my Pre called Post’er. This post is pretty much just a test, as well as a declaration, I am nerd.
The night started with Josh being disappointed in me:

Then I had my last meal of 2009:

Then I took my last (solo) self portrait of the year, be it far from flattering:

Then I took another, with Jordan:

And then I took another, and it ended up being upside down. Hmm. Not the strongest picture I took in 2009 but it was the last.

Then Lindsay treated us to some cheesecake. First food of 2010, could it be any better?

Then I took my first self portrait of 2010. I really like the color toning.

Josh broke a plate to symbolize the ending of the year. OR because he was trying to emphasize a point really hard on a stack of plates.

What a year! Time to move to 2010. Hope everyone had a safe and fun New Years.
I got a little behind. I was busy updating my layout. Tell me what you think.
Also, I’m updating this while I’m watching Inglorious Basterds. If you like movies, and haven’t seen this movie… go see this movie. Anyways, here are days 59 through 62.
Day 60:

View this one big
How sweet it is.
I am so blessed to live in the house I do. I’ve got 13 awesome roommates. We host dance parties from time to time. This is a collection of some pictures I took from “Twas the Night Before Stop Day”

(I’m pretty sure a lot of these look horrible if you’re seeing them on anything besides a macbook. The saturation is rediculous)
ahhhh, the cotton house.
