This second picture here helps the first picture make more sense:

Basically, I was trying to create “one thought” between two objects that were separated and very different. I did photoshop the volcano out of the original picture.

I wouldn’t say it was a complete success. I would have spent more time on the shot itself if it wasn’t 1 in the morning when I was taking it.

Usually, when I photograph, I look around and think about how I want to portray something. What lens to use, what angle, what depth of field, etc. But last night I picked up my 50mm and stood with it to my eye walking around my room until I ran into an image. I wouldn’t say its the most effective method. Just thought I’d try it.
